‣ Name of the project: National Center for gesture and text services for people with hearing impairments
In Bulgaria there are over 120,000 people, including 8,000 children and youth, that have varying degrees of hearing impairment. Many of them rely primarily on sign language as the main instrument of daily communication. People with hearing problems face barriers in communication, they do not have equal access to information, education and career. Our main goal is to provide equal access to information, education and communication and related services for the people of the quiet community because they deserve to participate fully in public life. Our solution is the deployment of an online platform for gestural translation and translation of the speech to text to help the social inclusion of people with varying degrees of hearing loss.
